They are so sweet and the inside brings joy and happiness:3
Total bust, was looking for something fun to do with my sister as I was visiting. No homemade candy, place was very small and very cluttered. Definitely not a place to go to if you’re expecting a fun time.
The place was truly wonderful. With amazingly helpful staff that cater to your everg need to delicious candy, ice cream, malts, soda, and much more! I always find myself coming back to Candy Kitchen. My personal reccomendation would be the High School special, the Pink Lady Soda, and the Green River soda.
Wonderful owners, great food!
Very cool place! Make sure to check out the museum
Great spot
My mom came to Iowa to visit me and I knew this had to be on my list of places to take her! We were given a nice little tour of the old history in the back of the store and then enjoyed some delicious milkshakes!! I highly recommend stopping in for a sweet treat whether you're passing through or live near by!A true treat to be there!!
Fun place to go. We had the sodas with ice cream. I've never had anything like it. It was delicious! The girl at the counter was very friendly. Very nice vintage soda shop. There's a museum in the back.
What I imagine life was like for my grandparents. Such a neat little place, really good ice cream and sodas, and what a friendly owner. Made me and my husband feel right at home!
What a wonderful experience. Brought back many memories of soda fountain experiences. Loved all of the candies...etc. remember blackjack, germans, and clove gum. Certainly will return Good ocean cream!!!!
Was pretty cool. I was kind of disappointed not to see homemade candy so much. But the soda fountain and ice cream was really awesome! If you do stop by and make sure to check out the Wilton community room in the back. Just a little bit of history on the community.
This place is amazing. Super friendly service- very great! The atmosphere is perfectly retro candy shoppe. The menu is filled with nothing but amazing sounding items. Ice cream and shoda shop sodas of all kinds. I tried a Cherry Shake- old style mix of rich milk and ice cream! They are all mixed like they used to be- not a sludge of ice cream barely cut with milk. It is a subtle cherry flavored, melted ice cream consistency (perfect) shake. Will. Come. Again.
A truly historic place that is as warm and welcoming as the day is long! Cherry cokes made the way they should be, ice cream treats crafted with care and attention to detail, and more nostalgia than you can shake a stick at ... plus smart & eco-friendly Wilton souvenirs and a big selection of handmade candies. This truly is a sweet spot worth visiting not just once, but whenever you're in the area!
Absolutely must stop! Don't even think, just go here, step back in time and enjoy the best sweet treat you could ask for. Great atmosphere, treats, history, ownership. Don't pass this one up as you cruise along I-80 bored at 70mph, take the exit and you won't regret it!!!
The Candy Kitchen in Wilton, IA is a unique old fashioned ice cream parlor. It is amazing, and the owners are wonderful.
I grew up in Wilton so this place will always be nostalgic for me. I bring my kids here every time we visit now from out of state. I only give 4 stars because it's not the same without the full menu. I hope one day it can be restored so that a kitchen can be put in and food served once again and George's homemade ice cream made. The drinks are what make the place so special, so I'm happy they at least get to do that.
Soda jockey was awesome. Very fun to talk to. Great story telling. It was a little disappointed that the cream is not made there anymore, but it's still made in Iowa.
Love this small town Ice Cream shop! I recommend to everyone
This place is nostalgia in a glass when you have a green river!!
Recently acquired from the original owner and with a remodeled store front, this establishment offers old candy and a nostalgic experience at a reasonable price. The handmade soda and delicious ice cream make a visit to the location a couple miles off Intestate 80 a necessary stop.
